The Council of the Socialist International, meeting in Santo Domingo on 23-24 November 2009:
- Expresses its concern concerning the denunciations of violations of human rights in Iran and condemns every practice that is contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- Demands respect to the rights of ethnic and religious minorities, including the Kurds.
- Demands the freedom of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience and expresses its solidarity with all those who, in accordance with our values, struggle for democracy, progress and justice in Iran.
